THOMAS – Leon E., 72, Davidsville, went to be with his Lord and Saviour Dec. 28, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Nov. 2, 1939, in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, son of Webster and Ella (Blough) Thomas. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Charles; and father-in-law, Dorsey Eash. Survived by wife of 51 years, the former Kathleen A. Eash; daughters, Debra, married to Terry Lamberson, Raleigh, N.C.; Joann, married to Arlan Thomas, Johnstown; and Marcia, married to Matthew Martin, Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Kelsey, Mackenzie and Landan Thomas; and Ben, Connaley and Zachary Martin; and brother, Paul E., married to the former Norma Thomas, Davidsville; also mother-in-law, Beatrice (Blough) Eash, Davidsville. A 1957 graduate of the former Johnstown Mennonite School. Owner of the former Thomas Service Center, Tire Hill. He was employed by J.I. Case Co., Lawn Equipment Division and several other lawn equipment companies, and most recently employed by Scheffel-West Central Equipment. Member of Kaufman Mennonite Church, where he held various positions through the years. Former member of Connumach Lions Club. Leon enjoyed watching NASCAR, listening to southern gospel music and attending antique tractor shows. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Viewing will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kaufman Mennonite Church, Davidsville. A private interment will then be held Saturday morning at Blough Mennonite Cemetery, followed by a receiving of friends from 12:30 p.m. until time of service to celebrate Leon's life at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Kaufman Church, Pastor Keith Yoder, presiding. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville.
