Tom Wood, Esq., Aspen,, Colo.:

Dear Sir, I am in receipt of your telegram of August 5 in reply to mine of the 4th instant.

P. Erskine got hurt at Gold King mine, a short distance from here, August 1, while tramming. A cave-in in the tunnel caught him and the car and hurt him seriously. He is at present in the hospital at Crown King under the case of Dr. J. K. McDonald. The doctor says he cannot tell for a few days whether or not he will recover. He is receiving the best of attention from the physician and many friends and should he not show signs of recovery, I will notify you by wire. Today he is some better and conscious.

Yours very truly,
