Born in Savannah, GA, he was a son of the late Benjamin Woodfin and Lena Garrett Adams. He was retired from the US Navy where he was a Storekeeper First Class.

Surviving, are two sons, Brad Adams (Andrea), Jason Adams; a daughter, Crystal Mahaney (Bill); two brothers, Paul Adams, James Adams; two sisters, Joann Smith, Elane Finley; and two grandchildren, Justin Adams and Robert Mahaney.

Graveside memorial services, with Full Military Honors, will be 3 pm Wednesday at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson. Fletcher Funeral Service, Fountain Inn, SC. Published in The Greenville News on December 20, 2011.
