Emma Annie Jackson Baker Boutilier was a victim of the Halifax Explosion. She was killed along with her youngest child. Two of her children and her second husband, who was away at the time, survived.

Emma was the daughter of James Stephen Jackson and Elizabeth Halloran.

She was a member of the extended Jackson family of Halifax. It is believed this family suffered the worse losses from the Explosion. Around sixty-four members of the extended family were in Halifax at the time and forty-six died.

Emma was married to Leverette E. Baker on 21 May 1908. Together they had four children:

Hilda Catherine/Frances (1908)
John Stanley (1910)
William (1912)
Clyde Leverette (1914-6 Dec 1917)

Leverette died on 3 Oct 1915.

Emma married a second time to Lawrence Boutilier. The couple were married on 8 Nov 1917.

At the time of the explosion, Emma lived at 1496 Barrington Street with her sister, Ada and her family.

Barrington Street was one of the hardest hit places in Halifax.

The remains of Emma and her son were buried in Mount Olivet, Cemetery.
