GENEALOGY OF REV. AARON WHITTEMORE
(Compiled by the late Hiram Whittemore, Kankakee, Illinois)

BENJAMIN WHITTEMORE 3, son of
JOHN WHITTEMORE 2, son of
THOMAS WHITTEMORE 1, was born at Cambridge, Mass., Sept. 1, 1669 and married ESTHER BROOKS, Aug 17, 1692. He died Sept 8, 174. She died Jan 16, 1742.

Their children were:

Benjamin born April 9, 1696
Nathaniel born Nov 23, 1698
Grace born March 20, 1709
Esther born May 3, 1707
Aaron born Dec 13, 1711

Benjamin settled at Concord, Mass and left six children. REV. AARON was Benjamin's third son, and was born Dec 13, 1711.

He graduated at Harvard University in 1734; after which he resided at Groton, Mass., for three years and then removed to Pembroke, N. H. where he was settled as the first minister of that town in March, 1737, and he died Nov 16, 1767 aged 55.

He married ABIGAIL COFFIN, of Salisbury, Mass, Feb 2, 1743.

Aaron settled on the old homestead of REV AARON. He married SARAH GILMAN of Exeter, N. H. Jan 11, 1770. She was born Oct 27, 1745 and died Oct 14, 1823. He died May 1, 1847.

Benjamin and Peter settled in Salisbury, N. H.

Esther married first JEREMIAH HALL of Concord, had one daughter, who married JOSEPH WILKINS. Mrs. Hall (widow) married REV. JOSEPH WOODMAN of Sanbornton, N. H. May 8, 1771.

Ruth married DAVID KIMBALL. She died Aug 25, 1773, leaving a daughter, who died young.

The children of Aaron Whittemore and Sarah (GILMAN), his wife, were:

JUDITH (Gilman) born Nov 5, 1771 married JAMES BAKER of Bow, N. H. who was born Mar 8, 1765. He died in 1808 leaving five children,

Sarah married JESSE BAKER and settled in Shipton, Canada East.

Lydia married HENRY BARNARD and settled in Shipton; both leaving large families.

Richard married NANCY BRICKETT and they left a large family.

Peter went west, married, and left one son named McDonough, who now resides in the State of Oregon.

1800. She was born Feb 25, 1776 and they settled in Pembroke, N. H. He died Apr 26, 1850, aged 76 years and she died Mar 9, 1862, aged 86.

Benjamin was born in 1801 and died in Philadelphia May 1833. He left no children.

Louisa was born Sep 21, 1802; married CHARLES P HAYWARD Sep 23, 1847. They have no children.

Adaline Whittemore was born Sep 28, 1806 and died Dec 28, 1821.

Aaron was born Nov 4, 1808 and married ARIANNAH S. BARSTOW, Dec 13, 1840.

Hiram was born Mar 31, 1811 and died Apr 9, 1890. He married ELIZABETH J HOITT of Exeter, N. H. Nov 26, 1838. She was born July 27, 1812. Soon after marriage they moved to the State of Ilinois.

Elizabeth J., wife of said Hiram died Feb 7, 1855.

Elizabeth married ORVILLE NASH ELLIS, M.D. of Ohio Jan 22, 1877. They have two children, viz., GEORGE ETHELWYNNE b Nov 26, 1877 and CHARLES WHITTEMORE ELLIS b. Sept 18, 1880.

Henry Fisk married MARY McKAY Mar 31, 1874 and settled in the town of Pembroke, Kankakee Co., Illinois. She was born Jan 22, 1854. They have two children: MARY E. b. Nov 26, 1875 and MINNIE B. b. Sept 1, 1877.

Sarah married PROF. ANGUS HAINES, of Minnesota Aug 30, 1876. They have one child, HIRAM ANGUS b. Aug 1, 1879.

Lydia Whittemore, b. June 28, 1813, unmarried.

Sarah b. Nov 24, 1815 married JACOB SAWYER. She died Sept 9, 1845 leaving two children.

Dolly D. b. Feb 1819 married DAVID H. BURNHAM; died Apr 18, 1843 leaving no children.

Aaron W., the son of JAMES BAKER and JUDITH (WHITTEMORE) BAKER, was born Apr 10, 1796; married NANCY DUSTIN, Mar 10, 1825. He died July 12, 1876. She died May 20, 1881 aged 79 leaving

Adaline, and Luke N. LUKE BAKER married again Jan 19, 1834, MARTHA GILCHRIST. She was born Dec 5, 1804 and died Mar 14, 1879. Their children are: James II., Frances Ann and Helen M.

Harriet Baker, born May 29, 1800 married PHILIP SARGENT of Concord, N. H. She left no children.

Susannah Baker born Jun 1, 1802 married PETER WHITTEMORE of Salisbury, N. H. No children left.

Lydia Baker born Feb 20, 1806, married HENRY M. MOORE of Concord, N. H. They left two children, George H. and James B.

James Baker born Apr 3, 1808 was twice married -- first, to OLIVE and second to RACHEL GEENLEAF. He left one child, Evelyn G. Baker

Moses Carter Baker, son of Luke Baker born Jan 19, 1825 married LAURA ALMA MORSE Jul 2, 1861. She was born Aug 12, 1833. Their children are: Harry Carter, Frances Agnes, Florence and Isabel.

Sarah Whittemore was born Sep 16, 1777 married JESSE BAKER of Bow, N. H. Jan 20, 1797 and moved to Canada in 1808. She died Aug 1, 1857, aged 82. He died May 20, 1847. Their children were: Enoch born Feb 7, 1798 died Feb 2, 1863. He married HANNAH CROWN leaving a large family.

Peter born Oct 26, 1799. He married MARY SILVER. She died May 18, 1862 leaving three children.

Joel, born Sep 3, 1801. He married ROXINA SILVER. He died in Dayton, Wis., May 18, 1865. She died Nov 29, 1880. They left four children.

William, born Dec 24, 1803 married JANE OLY. He died Dec 18, 1877 leaving three children.

Joseph was born Jun 13, 1806; married ALOINE WARD. He died at Milwaukee, Wis., Feb 20, 1873, leaving one child.

Philip was born July 25, 1815; married LUCY JANE PARKER. They have no children.

Sarah W. born Nov 20, 1820; married E. C. II. Silver, Dec 12, 1855. He was born Dec 3, 1821. Their children are: Sarah Ellen b Nov 15, 1856; died Jun 20, 1876; Emmie W. b. Aug 4, 1858; and Mary L. b Apr 27, 1862.
