Stanley Bucknell was born near Milford, Oakland county (sic), Michigan, July 7, 1876. He moved west with his parents to a farm nine miles from Washington, Kan., in the year 1890. The five years later he moved to a farm three miles south of Hardy, in Republic county (sic), Kan. It was here Mr. Bucknell grew to manhood. On December 7, 1898, he was united in marriage to Grace Tucker Davidson and to this union four children were born.

Mr. Bucknell lived in Republic county (sic) until 1918. At this time he left the farm and moved with his family to Junction City, Kan., as manager of the elevator at Zarah, Kan.

Mr. Bucknell was converted and joined the Methodist church 25 years ago. He was always faithful to his God. Religion to him was something he lived every day in a quiet way. It has been said by one who knew him in his home and every day life, that he was the best Christian man he had ever known. He was greatly loved and respected by all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his mother, his beloved wife and his children: Ward Davidson, Belleville, Kan.; Raymond Bucknell, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Willis Tainer, Olathe, Kan.; Wilma May and Charles at home; four brothers: W.F. Bucknell, Hannibal, Mo., R.E. Bucknell, Hardy, Neb., C.P. Bucknell, Wetaskiwin, Canada, Rev. J.R. Bucknell, Friend, Neb.; his four grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, from the Olathe Funeral home. Rev. E.M. Daniels of the Olathe Methodist church (sic), conducted the services. Services were also held at 11 a.m. at Rose Mound cemetery (sic) in charge of Rev. R.V. Davis on July 26, 1933. - Hardy Herald.
