BLAME INNER TUBE

An inner tube upon which he was floating is believed to have been responsible for the drowning in the Paint river here of Jack Ray Anderson, eight-year=old son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson, of the Falls location, Crystal Falls.
According to his companion, Charles Wepsalainen, 9, the boy was using the inner tube. The two had gone swimming sometime Friday morning without notifying anyone of their intention or where they were going. They entered the water about quarter-mile south of the Crystal Falls power plant.
Wepsalainen is unable to tell just what happened, but the fact that the inner tube disappeared suggests the theory that it was deflated. The nose and mouth of the boy were full of blood, indicating that he had struck rocks on the bed of the river. After the body disappeared it was quickly carried downstream.
