OBITUARY Iron River Reporter Feb 18 1976 "Obituaries: Mildred Luopa"
Mrs. Oliver (Mildred) Luopa, 59, Iron River, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 9 at Iron County General Hospital, where she had been a patient for two days.
Mrs. Luopa was born October 22, 1916 in Crystal Falls, where she resided until her marriage to Oliver Luopa in 1938. She then moved to Iron River, where she resided until her death. Mrs. Luopa attended the Crystal Falls schools, graduating with the class of 1935. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Beechwood.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Judy) Bentley and Mrs. Clarence (Gail) Gustafson of Iron River; six sisters, Mrs. Sadie Barich, Eagle River, Mrs. David (Myrtle) Boyd, Calif., Mrs. Steve (Violet) VanTroba, and Mrs. Alice Whitman, Crystal Falls, Mrs. Joe (Edith) Mechon, Amasa, and Mrs. Glenn (Bernette) Johnson, Iron River; and three brothers, Leonard and Gilbert Anderson, Crystal Falls, and Byrtle Anderson of Montana. Six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 12 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Beechwood with the Rev. John Metzig, pastor, officiating.
Mrs. Ellen Aho sang "Drawn to the Cross" and "Rock of Ages," accompanied by Mrs. Melvin Aho, organist.
Pallbearers were Ronald Smedlund, Leonard Ponozzo, John Magray, Kenneth Kosky, Chester Shelgren and Jerome Dams.
Interment was in the family plot in Rosehill Cemetery, Beechwood.
Fell Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
