GEORGE E. PARKS, 76, Wysox RD 2, died November 8, 1988 at the Heritage Nursing Home in Athens. Born November 15, 1911 in Windham Township, he was the son of Ray B. and Mary Allen Parks. He was a 1930 graduate of Rome High School, a former employee of IBM, and self employed as a dairy farmer and owned and operated a plumbing and electrical business. Mr. Parks was a retired employee of Agway in Nichols, NY. He was a past president of the Rome Township School Board, past president of the Northeast Bradford School Board for the 1957-58 term and was a board member from 1954-1958. He was a past secretary of the Local Eastern Milk Producers Cooperative and a past Master of the Roman Masonic Lodge #418 F&AM and for many years served as a Bradford County Republican committeeman. Surviving are his wife, Isadore Phillips Parks, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Doris Krysiak, Westfield; a daughter and son-in-law, LaVeta and Duane Jennings, Granville Summit; four sisters, Mrs. George (Ida) Conrad, Rome; Mrs. Marian Schwartz, Lancaster; Mrs. Robert (Nina) Helm, Quarryville; Mrs. Marc (Geneva) Terzieu, Syracuse, NY; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rebekah B. Sweet, pastor of the Rome United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Rome Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Roman Masonic Lodge #418 F&AM will hold Masonic services at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m.
