Geneva A. Terziev, 89, longtime resident of Syracuse, passed away Thursday at St. John's Home, Rochester. The daughter of farmer and cattle dealer Ray Parks and his wife, Mary, she grew up in Rome, Pennsylvania. She went on to become a registered nurse, receiving her training in Youngstown, Ohio. During World War II, she served in the Army Nurse Corps as an operating room nurse at Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky. After the war, she came to Syracuse, where she worked as an obstetrical nurse at General Hospital of Syracuse and at Memorial Hospital from 1946 until 1952. In 1949 she married local attorney Marc G. Terziev. For over 50 years, she faithfully tended the house and garden that his father had originally built on Cherry Road in Westvale in the 1920s, bringing love, happiness and an unshakeable steadiness to her husband and their two children. They broke the mold when they made her. Her beloved husband, Marc, predeceased her in 2004. She is survived by her son, Marc N. Terziev of Sunnyvale, California; her daughter, Alexandra J. Terziev (Greenleaf) of Rochester; and her grandchildren, Katherine, Nicholas and Jeffrey. Services: Words of remembrance at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tindall Funeral Home. Burial to immediately follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Calling Hour: 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, prior to the words of remembrance, at the funeral home, 1921 W. Genesee St. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
