LYONS — Ernest C. Spaeny, 70, retired pipeline worker, died Saturday at Sterling Community Hospital after six month's illness. Born Oct. 30, 1893, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he married Ora Runkle April 25, 1923 in Alva, Okla. They had lived in the Lyons community the past 39 years.
Member: American Legion Lyons.
Survivors: The widow; sons, Ernest Jr., Sterling, Colo.; Donald K, 1005 West 18th, Hutchinson; a brother, Harry H, Salina; five grandchildren.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Crawford-Miller Mortuary, Lyons; Rev. Orvan Gilstrap. Burial: Lyons Cemetery. Call: 7-9 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
