BRUCE L. GRIFFIN, 76, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, in Lake Placid, Fla. Born Feb. 26, 1935, in Birmingham, Ala., he was the son of the late Coy and Elizabeth (Posey) Griffin. He was the Vice-President of Legacy Heating & Air Conditioning at the time of his death. He was an Army and Air Force Veteran. He was also an Indiana Baptist Convention Minister, a graduate of Blackstone School of Law, and a National Champion ADF Power Lifting Association. Past President of Griffin Heating & Air Conditioning he was also active in Senior Softball in Fort Wayne and in Florida. Surviving are his wife, Carlene of Fort Wayne; children, Gwen Arbuckle of Shipshewana and Vicky Griffin both of Fort and Wayne, Cathy, Marilynn, Joyce, Debbie and Geno Griffin allof Alabama; former wife, Anna Griffin of Fort Wayne; stepchildren, Mary Jo Davies of Anderson, Tammy Pendavis, Mike Hutcherson, Sherry Mitchell and Susan Kuhn all of Fort Wayne; sister, Linda Webber of Alabama; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter, Pam Griffin; son, Bruce Steele Griffin; grandson, Justin Griffin; sister, Betty Coy Patton; and brothers, Gene and Skeeter Griffin. Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Avalon Missionary Church, 1500 Lower Huntington Road with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Keith Koteskey officiating. Visitation also from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Preferred memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
