Ethel Rose Ely, 80, Sycamore R. D. 1, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 1955, at Greene County Memorial Hospital after a three week illness.
Born Nov. 16, 1874, in Greene County, she was the daughter of Henry and Catherine Reese Rose and wife of the late John t. Ely who preceded her in death on June 5, 1954. She spent most of her ife in this county.
She is survived by two grandsons, Carl Ely of Somerset and James Ely of Sycamore. One great-granddaughter and one brother, John Rose, of Brea, Calif., also survive.
She was preceded in death by one son, Winnett Ely, on Jan. 2, 1955, one brother and her one sister, Mrs. Cam Huffman, who passd away Sunday and whose funeral services are being held today.
She was a member of the Hopewell Methodist Church, near Sycamore.
