He appeared as a Gibson County attorney in "Indiana Annual Register and Pocket Manual, revised and corrected for the year 1845." He is also mentioned in the 1897 "History of Evansville and Vanderburgh County," page 149. He served as a county commissioner in 1836-37. He inherited the south half of Lot 55 on Prince Street from his father just nine years before his death. That property passed to his son Charles about 1880, but was sold to another family in 1882 when Charles moved to Kansas.
He died at age 50 of causes unknown to me. The monument over his grave has fallen over and broken, as of 2010.
