Betty June (Morris) Hook, Abingdon Chapel age 80 of Abingdon, died at 10:45 pm Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born on March 10, 1931 near Delong, the daughter of Frank Hugh and Nydia Marie (Skinner) Morris. She married James E. Hook on April 24, 1954 at the Abingdon Christian Church. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Tamara (and Roger) McClure of rural St. Augustine and Tina (and Jeremy) Derry of Abingdon; one son, Timothy (and Lisa May) Hook of rural Maquon; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Ervin (and Evelyn) Morris of Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Betty graduated from Fairview High School in 1950. She was a homemaker and had also worked at the Hermon Post Office in the 1960's. She had lived in rural Maquon and later in Hermon for 28 years and in Abingdon the past 24 years. She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Abingdon.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Rick Smith and Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the chapel.
