Although he was living with them in Chicago in 1900, by 1910 he was at the Lincoln State School for the Feebleminded, and no one there even seemed to know where he was born. By 1930 he was at the Dixon State Hospital, in Lee County, where he died.

Gravesite Details
Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford, Illinois, could not find this burial. His death certificate (Illinois No. 2526) states that he was buried Jan. 12, 1940, in this cemetery. He is probably in a pauper section.
