Born April 8, 1927, in Chicago, the daughter of Vern and Mary (Twomey) Anderson, Jeanne married Eugene Adee on Feb. 4, 1950, in DeKalb.
Jeanne attended DeKalb schools and Northern Illinois Teachers College. She was a longtime member of Malta Methodist Church. She was an artist, homemaker, steward of the land, amateur radio operator and belonged to the Radio Club.
She farmed with her husband Gene for 25 years in DeKalb County before retiring to Stanley, Wis., where the couple enjoyed motorcycling, camping and helping their neighbors. They returned to Illinois in 1991, moving to Clare where they built a home they resided in until her death.
She is survived by her husband, Gene; children, Dan (Gail) of Dothan, Ala., Todd (Hilda) of Malta and Mary Lynn of Dixon; grandchildren, Chad Ross and Molly Ross, both of San Diego, Ross Adee of Malta and Storey Adee of Rochelle; brother, George (Lela) Anderson of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kelly Jean Adee; sister, Marie Whyte; brother, Ed Anderson; and her parents.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb, with the Rev. Mike Massey of Glad Tidings Assembly of God, DeKalb, officiating. Burial will follow at Malta Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb.
