Sarah Rosetta, or "Sadie" as she was known, was born in Bates County, MO the daughter of Benjamin F. and Eliza Jane (Cotton) Houston.

She married John Monroe Cornett on Nov 11, 1948.

Survivors include six sons, Joseph F. Cornett of Orlean, MO, Jack Cornett of Resedda, CA, Merl M. Cornett and Bob Cornett, both of Eldon, MO, Harvey Cornett of Haysville, KS, and Grover Cornett of Sedalia; daughters Miss Ruth E. Cornett of Tuscombia, MO and Mrs. Lela M. Amos of Jamestown; one sister Mrs. Janie Snoderly, Richmond, 20 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
