"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 19, No 48, p 191, Dec 3, 1863.

In hospital at Baton Rouge, La., after a lingering illness, Ai Stillman, in the 22d year of his age. He enlisted in August, 1862, in Co. H, 114th Regiment New York State Volunteers, and, after the surrender of Port Hudson, he being unable to endure field service on account of poor health, was sent to the hospital, where he served as nurse a short time, when he became so weak that he could do more. He was led to see and feel his need of a Saviour, and about a month before he died, he experienced a change of heart; after which he seemed to be entirely resigned to the will of his Heavenly Father, whether it was for him to recover or to be called home to heaven.
