William E. Thornburg, member of a pioneer family in this community, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 1955, at Madison County Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 79 years of age.
Mr. Thornburg was born in Madison county Nov. 25, 1875, a son of William and Elizabeth Thornburg. Most of his life was spent in this community.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Anderson home for funerals, conducted by the Rev. George D. Fisher, pastor of the First Presbyterian church here. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery northeast of Winterset.
