Jonathan T. (John) Dickey was the son of Matthew Henderson Dickey (1832-1916) by his first wife, Margaret E. Campbell (1830-1865). He was born in Leon County, Texas. He married Minnie Elizabeth Henson on 29 May 1890 in Leon County, and they had two children Thomas Austin Dickey and Letitia L. Dickey. Minnie preceded him in death by several years, and he lived for his last five years in Houston with his son. Uncle Johnny often attended family gatherings, where he was warmly welcomed by his sisters.
I was told by the cemetery caretaker in the 1970s that Minnie is buried next to her daughter Lettie, and Jonathan is buried on the other side of Lettie.
