Charles O. Bookout, 86, 413 S. Elliott St., died Sunday morning at the Delaware County Home after an extended illness. He was a native of Losantville, where his parents, Walter and Lucinda Bookout were homesteaders.
A resident of Muncie for 55 years, Mr. Bookout was the last of a family of 11 children. He was a motorman and conductor for Union Traction Co. for 20 year and also had been a carpenter.
Survivors are two sons, Nolan L., Muncie, and Clarence, Los Angeles, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Parson Mortuary with Rev. Gail Davis officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
