A.M. Finkenbinder, 76, retired farmer and mail carrier, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roy Boyer, New Kingston. He had been ill for the past six months.
For 53 years he was a member of the Plainfield Lutheran Church and had attended the Sunday school at Plainfield for 70 years. When stricken ill he had been teaching a class of young boys in the Sunday school for 13 years. For several years he had hauled the mail from the railroad station at Elliottson to Plainfield.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Barbara Hershey Finkenbinder; a son, Earl, of York; the daughter, Mrs. Boyer; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a brother, David Finkenbinder, of Plainfield.
Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, daylight saving time, at the Plainfield Lutheran Church where the body may be viewed from 1 to 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.
