David P. Finkenbinder, 73, of Plainfield, former Democratic county chairman, died Monday night in the Baker Nursing Home, Mechanicsburg, R.D., where he had been a patient for two months.

For 33 years he operated a general store in Plainfield and served as its postmaster.

The son of the late Adam and Maria Finkenbinder, he was a member of the Plainfield Church of God and Sunday School and also the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Newville; Eagles, White Circle, Moose, Red Men, Knights of Malta and P.O.S. of A., all of Carlisle.

In addition to his wife, Mrs. Sarah Ellen Reiber Finkenbinder, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Walter Sweyer, and two grandchildren, Walter Sweyer, Jr., and Sheila Sweyer, of Philadelphia.

Services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 from the Shulenberger Funeral Home with burial in Westminster Cemetery mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening.
