~OBITUARY OF JOHN M. KOCH

John M. KOCH was born in South Russia to Michael and Katherine KOCH on July 05, 1897, and departed this world November, 23, 1972, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 18 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at an early age.

He was united in marriage to Christina KAMMERER on June 29, 1919, in the Lutheran church. They began their married life on a farm southwest of Shattuck where they lived until 1942, at which time they moved to their present home in Shattuck. His wife left for her heavenly home on January 9, 1972.

To this union eight children were born, three of whom preceded him in death: Edwin, who was killed in 1944 during World War II, Elsie, who died in infancy and Delorse, who was killed in a car accident at the age of 22. Those left to remember him are Helen, Mrs. Leroy MARQUARDT, Esther, Mrs. Odell BOWLES, Shattuck, Lorene, Mrs. Kenneth LEEDY, Chula Vista, California, Willard and Harry, Wichita, Kansas, their husbands and wives, eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. One living sister, Mary HINTHER, Jordon, Montana. Four brothers and five sisters preceded him in death: Jacob, Michael, Tobias Paul, Martha MEIER, Lena SCHOENHALS, Katherine APPEL, Christina BABITZKE, and Elizabeth MECKLE.

John was a kind and loving husband, father and a good neighbor to all. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
