Royal House of Navarre. The eldest daughter of the Count of Evreux, Prince Consort of Queen Johanna. She married the king of Aragon Peter IV (1338) with whom she fathered 4 children of which only the last (Peter) was a boy. However, fate was not benevolent with the family as Maria died in childbirth in Valencia and her newly generated son did not survive her more than a day. She was initially buried in that city at the San Vicente church.
