SILVERTON - Funeral services for Bill Jack Williamson, 76, of Olton will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Silverton. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery by Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Silverton. Mr. Williamson died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, in Plainview. He was born Nov. 5, 1935, in Silverton to the late Bill (David) and Irene Williamson. He attended Clarendon Junior College, Howard Payne University, Wayland Baptist University, Golden Gate Baptist Seminary in Mill Valley, Calif., West Texas State University, the University of Oklahoma, the University of Texas and Texas Tech University. He was pastor at Aiken Baptist Church until 1964, then worked as a math teacher at Olton High School until retiring in 1991. Survivors include four children, Mark Williamson of Waunakee, Wisc., Susan Williamson and husband Rob Franklin of Seminole, Carol Wilkinson and husband Scot of Argyle and Jackie Williamson and husband Blake Smith of Azle; a brother, Jerry Williamson and wife Pam of Boone, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Anita Cooper and husband Billy of Lubbock; a brother-in-law, Bailey Loyd of Silverton; five grandsons; and two granddaughters. His wife, Melba Loyd Williamson, is deceased. The family suggests memorials to Olton EMS/EMT services.
