James Adolph Adam, 70, of East Moline, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at East Moline Nursing & Rehabilitation.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the family for the children.

James was born on Oct. 17, 1941, in Hannibal, Mo., to John Paul and Cecilia Rose Yeager Adam. He worked for 33 years as a postal worker for USPS. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the VFW Legion Post No. 246. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Church in Moline.

Survivors include his daughters, Carolyn Adam, Moline, Lorie A. (Eddie) Hubbard, Moline, Lisa Adam; son, John Thomas Adam; grandchildren, CJ Hubbard and Lucy Hubbard, Moline, Jayvin White, Davenport; mother, Cecilia Adam; siblings, Bill, Linda and Danny; special friend, Sue Peterson.

He was preceded in death by his father, John.
