Addison Bennett was the son of William Bennett and Sarah Barngrover. Addison was first married to Caroline "Carrie" Cowdry on October 3, 1867 in Brown County, Ohio, and six known children identified in our family book and confirmed by my genealogy. He married second Myrtle Elva "Myrtie" (Ashmore) Setty-Hoops as her third husband on March 16, 1903, in Highland County, Ohio.

Children of Addison Bennett and Carrie Cowdry:
1. Sherman Bennett, b. 1868 d. 1870, died young.
2. Jemima Bennett, b. 1871, possibly died young.
3. Minnie Lumina (Bennett) Bennett-Day (DNA), b. 1871 d. 1922
4. Burton Bennett, b. 1873 d. 1880
5. Cora E. Bennett, b. 1874, possibly died young (?).
6. Ira (Ora) Bennett, b. 1878 d. 1881, 3 years old.

Children of Addison Bennett and Myrtie Ashmore:
No issue.

Note: Gertrude M. Hoop is Addison's stepdaughter.

Civil War Record:
Addison Bennett enlisted in the Civil War on 4 Oct 1864 in Louisville, KY, with the rank of Private in the Union Army 18th Infantry, Company H. He was wounded in battle and discharged 18 Jul 1865 from Louisville. He was listed as being admitted to the U.S. National Homes for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers in 1900, in Dayton, Ohio.
