He married Erma Jean Duncan on January 23, 1946, in Montezuma, Iowa.
Surviving are his wife, Erma; two sons, Roger of Grinnell and Randy of Phoenix, Arizona.; three daughters, Pam Ellingson of Grinnell, Connie Bailey of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jackie Weberg of Gresham, Oregon; a brother, Lyle of Fort Collins, Colorado; and two sisters, Deloris Dale of Loveland, Colorado and Lorene Smith of Salt Lake City, Utah.
