Bertha May Moyer was born May 1, 1886 in Stephenson County, Illinois to Mary and Samuel Moyer, and passed away at her home in Corning, Iowa on July 23, 1959.
She was united in marriage to Lafe Walton, April 15, 1901. To this union were born twelve children. Surviving are her husband, Lafe, and eleven children, Florence (Mars. Chas Swain of Creston, Iowa); Grace, Mrs. Pete Smith of Carbon, Iowa; Mary Branan of Corning; Nellie Barton of Corning; Cliff of Ebetland, Oregon; Freda, Mrs. Carl Villers of Cone Bay, Oregon; Bessie Cozad of Empire, Oregon; Fred Walton of Oakland, California; twin boys, Ronald of Memphis, Tennessee, and Donald of Massena, Iowa, and Jessie, Mrs. James Zumwalt of Hayward, California.
One son, Willis (Bud( preceded her in death on April 24, 1952. Also surviving are four sisters, two brothers, several daughters-in-law and sons-in-law. Also a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services were held from the Roland Funeral Home Monday, July 27, 1959 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Alfred Hunter and Rev. Lewis Hunter. Interment was in Quincy Cemetery.
