Charles Ward Retired Miner, who worked in the mining industry from the age of 12 finally at Stubbing Colliery at Rawmarsh. He Married his wife Phyllis in 1944 and had two sons Derek and John. Charles retired early in life due to ill health from working in the mining industry. Charles lost his wife in 1984 and resided at 17 Simmons Avenue / Manor Farm Rawmarsh / Rotherham, South Yorkshire. He suffered with breathing problems probably due to the length of time working down the mine. In 1993 he suffered a Fatal heart attack during a trip to the local Betting Shop. His bet was a winner but we lost a great man. Father to Derek and John Ward, Grandad to Jayne Anne Farnell nee Ward, Great grandad to Matthew and Liam Farnell. He died at the age of 73 and was re united with his wife in Rawmarsh cemetery.
