DYER, BETTY - age 78, Lynn Ave, Greeneville, Passed away Sunday, December 5, 2011 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. Retired from Magnavox where she was Administrative Secretary to Bob Brenizer for 35 years. She was a long time member of First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Rebecca Circle and Ruth Circle at First Christian Church. She was a graduate of Knoxville High School. Survivors: her loving husband of 57 years, Dewey R. Dyer; caring and loving sisters Shirley Cumpton and Helen Caton; sister-in-law, Charlotte Acuff; beloved nephew, Steve Shields; numerous other nieces and nephews. Special friends: Linda Cutshaw, Ron and Patty Berquist, Harold and Janice Waddle,Reba Thompson, Greg Sayler, Jack Kilday, Marshall Brown, Glenn Heines, Eual Shelton and Bob Gay and her friends at First Christian Church. She was the daughter of the late John and Cora Acuff and was preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Bill,Booty, Junior and Bud Acuff; sisters, Mary Byerly, Bobbie Wood and Sally Julian. Funeral will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel, Rev. Jeff McNabb, Rev. Gene Wood officiating. Interment 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Lynnhurst Cemetery. The family would like to express their thanks to P. J. Thornburg and the caring staff of Amedysis. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. Family and friends are asked to meet at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, 2300 Adair Dr., Knoxville, Thursday morning for the committal service.
