Their marriage produced five children, all daughters: Betty Jean, Doris Mae, Leota Marguerite, Bertha Louise, and Jewell Irene. Their 26-year marriage ended with Eldee's death at age 60.
On May 12, 1959, at Chelsea in Washtenaw county, Georgia married third to Myles Edward Pontney, a son of Charles J. Pontney and Caroline Flynn. Myles was age 58 and Georgia 54. Their nearly eight year marriage ended with Myles' death in 1967.
Georgia I. Pontney died in late summer 1988 in a nursing home at Ypsilanti, Michigan. Her funeral service was conducted Wednesday evening, 7:30 P.M., August 24, at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea. The service was officiated by her grandson Donald Duane Nutt. Per Georgia's wishes, her body was cremated and her ashes spread out over Lake Michigan from an airplane.
