Oscar Lawson age 77 of Searsboro died Tuesday at the Grinnell General Hospital. Burial in the Pleasant Township Cemetery rural Ewart, Iowa.

Oscar Lee Lawson was the son of William and Eva Wasson Lawson. He attended rural schools near Hepburn, Iowa.

He was married to Matilda Matchett on December 25, 1923 at her home in Pleasant Township, Poweshiek County, Iowa. They were the parents of William, Oscar and Paul.

He attended Johnson Bible College in Nashville, TN; Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio; Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa graduating in 1925. The Pittsburgh Theological Seminary at Pittsburgh, PA graduating in 1931

He held pastorates in Fertile, Iowa; Cumberland, Iowa; Mayfield, Kansas; Hopewell, Kansas; Red Oak, Iowa and Shannon City, Iowa.

For the last twenty years he had been associated with Capper Publications working with the American Legion and Veterans' organizations.

He taught in the Sabbath School in the Ewart Presbyterian Church until he was disabled.
