Funeral services for Shirline I. Scott, 79, of Monroe, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 9, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Swartz with Rev. Byron Boykin officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Scott died Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Ridgecrest Nursing Home. She was a school teacher at Swartz Junior High School and Ouachita Parish Junior High School, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Swartz.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney L. Scott; three sisters, Charldean Venable, Sybil Boykin, and Gail Irwin; and brother, Jackie Irwin.
Survivors include her sons, Sidney Alan Scott and wife Sara, and Dennis L. Scott and wife Ronnie; four grandchildren, Stevie, Nick, Monica, and Tyler; and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Stevie Scott, Tyler Scott, Rick Scott, Blake McMilleon, Kenny Justice, and Nick Scott.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
