James Edward Allen Passes Away

The Peach Creek section lost and esteemed young man on Saturday in the death of James Edward Allen who died at his home on the Lang place at 12:15 PM that day, following an illness of several weeks. He was 31 years 3 months and 9 days of age.
Surviving him or his father W. E. Allen, six sisters and one brother. His mother passed away about three years ago.
He had been a resident of this county for the past 10 years and had made many warm friends who are grieved over his passing, the early close of a life that had but recently reached young manhood's most useful years.
His remains were laid to rest in the odd Fellows cemetery here Sunday afternoon, Rev. J. W. Allbritten, pastor of the First Methodist church conducting the impressive funeral ceremonies in the presence of numerous friends of the family gathered to pay him a little last earthly tribute.
The acting pallbearers included Fred and Herman Lockstedt, Chad and Henry Foster and Oscar and John Sallger.
A number of pretty floral tributes adored his last resting place.
The family have many friends who will join us in tendering warm sympathy to the family in their loss.
