Employe of City Barrett 65 Dies
W. F. Barrett 65 died Thursday at 8 am at his home South Fifth street, following a week's illness.
Barrett was born July 5 1884 at Marysville Kan. He received his education in Marysville and in Stillwater. Following his marriage in Stillwater he and his wife moved to Ochiltree, now known as Perryton, Texas, where they lived for several years. They returned to Oklahoma, residing in Sulphur where Barrett was employed as an instructor in a deaf and dumb school and in bridge construction.
Later they moved to Okmulgee where he was associated with the Kingwood Oil company. He also worked for the Oklahoma Gas company following its merger with the Kingwood company. In 1939 he and his family moved to Oklahoma City where they resided until three years ago when they moved here. Barrett was employed in the Ponca City water and light department warehouse.
He has been a member of the Church of Christ since childhood.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Barrett of the home; one daughter Mrs. W H Marshall of Oklahoma City, two sons L F Barrett of Effingham, Ill. and J F Barrett of Turner Heights addition; three brothers Fred Barrett of Olney, Bryan Barrett of Stillwater and Parker Barrett of California and three grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are pending the son's arrival from Illinois. Miles funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
