Mrs. Amanda S. Hossler, Who Has 79 Living Relatives, Will Celebrate Birthday Anniversary In Home of Her Daughter, Mrs. Leo W. Braucher, 331 West Maple Street.

READY TO GREET FRIENDS

Tomorrow (Thursday), January 7, a gracious and splendid example of true womanhood who has filled loyally every duty in life as daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, will celebrate her 97th birthday anniversary in the home of her youngest daughter, Emma (Mrs. Leo. W. Braucher), 331 West Maple Street.

The lady, who carries her 97 years with less effort than many women carry 50 years, is Mrs. Amanda S. Hossler, who entered this world on January 7, 1840, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Hoverstock, then residents in the vicinity of Navarre in Perry township, Stark county. Today she is the only surviving member of a family of eleven children.

Mrs. Hossler is the widow of Daniel Hossler. They had nine children, seven of whom lire living. She has 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, a total of 70, not including her own seven children, which when added brings the grand total to 79, all of them alive and ready to pay her homage tomorrow and sincerely wish her many more anniversaries.

Except that her eyesight is not as clear as it was a few years ago, Mrs. Amanda Hossler is physically and mentally away above much younger women. She enjoys company and she keeps posted on the affairs of the day. She has resided most of her life in and near North Canton.

She is the oldest member of The Community Christian church and many members of the congregation will call and congratulate her tomorrow or mail her greetings. As one of
her friends remarked to The Sun this morning: "Mrs. Hossler's intense - spiritual nature has been an inspiration to those around her. She has kept alight the torch of friendliness, and her influence for good over the active lives about her through the force of her trust, unfailing patience and cheer stamp her as an exceptional woman."
