Longtime Oklahoma City resident, Alice Maxine Flanagan Clayton, passed on to eternal life on December 2, 2011. She was born August 1, 1921 in Oklahoma City, OK and grew up in the Capitol Hill area. She was an active member of Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was a "Rosie the Riveter" at Douglas Aircraft during WWII and was a volunteer at Southwest Medical Center. "Grandmother Mackie" was quite a character. She had the sweetest smile and razor sharp wit. She loved her Flanagan Clan and was happiest when she was telling comical stories about her childhood and about her adventures with her sisters. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Aunt to all. She was always helping others and reaching out to people in need. She was especially happy in her later years when she started a book ministry for nursing home residents. She is survived by her son, Bob Bedingfield; two daughters, Karen Branstetter and Diane Steiner; and five grandchildren, Jalynn Youngberg, Bobby Marsee, Tracie Vannostran, Eric Peck, and Brian Bedingfield. She has five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, Jack McMillian and Boyd Clayton. Graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on December 5th at 2 p.m.
