George Matthesen, Jr. 82, left to be in the presence of the Lord on Monday, October 1, 2001. George was a life-time resident of Oklahoma City, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, of 52 years. George grew up in Capitol Hill, and was one of eleven children. During WWII, he fought with Gen. Patton and the 45th Division. George, along with his wife and children, were long-time members of Capitol Hill Assembly of God Church. In later years they attended Bethesda Assembly of God Church. George is survived by his two sisters, Maxine Clayton and Beuleah Black; four children, Patty Brotherton, Donna Robertson, Phillip Flanagan, and David Flanagan; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
