MULLINS - Edward C. White, 35, died here last night. The tragedy occurred at the residence of his mother, Mrs. C. H. Strickland, in Smith Street.
Mr. White was one of the best bookmen in the tobacco business and had for many years been employed on the Mullins tobacco market as well as on other markets. This year he was employed by the Star warehouse in Lake City for the season.
Funeral services will be held when relatives arrive from Canada and other points. The time set for the funeral is 10 o'clock Friday morning.
Surviving him are his wife, the former Miss Clara Byrd of Mullins; his mother, Mrs. C. H. Strickland; two daughters, Carolyn and Clara; and the following brothers and sisters, Malcolm White, Providence, Rhode Island, Mrs. Dick Freeman, Bluefield, West Virginia, Thomas and W. J. White, Dorothy Strickland and C. S. Strickland of Mullins.
He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Junior Order.
