John A. Bonnett, 73, well known Provo resident, died early today at the Utah Valley hospital, following an illness of three weeks.
Mr. Bonnett was born in Provo, June 27, 1866, a son of James and Ann Hughes Bonnett. He received his education in the Provo city schools. He married Delia Fitzgerald in Provo, March 8, 1890.
He worked as a lineman for the Telluride Power Company in 1904 and helped build the flume to the Olmsted Plant. He was with the power company until 1916. In 1918 he started to work for Provo City and continued in the same work until 1931. Since then he has been associated was a son, Stanley F. Bonnett, of Provo, in the coal business.
He was a member of the LDS Church.
Surviving are his widow; two sons, Stanley F. and Orval J. Bonnett; one daughter, Mrs. Laura Vacher, all of Provo; three brothers, Clement and George Bonnett of Provo and Ellis Bonnett of Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. May Hoffman, Truckee, California, and Mrs. Celia Coe, Los Angeles, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the Manavu ward chapel Friday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Provo City burial park.
