Willis Cheek
Funeral for Willis Alton "Bunk" Cheek, 55, of Pinetree Road, Eastanollee, was Aug. 18. He died Aug. 16, in Stephens County Hospital.
Born in Seneca, S.C., he was the son of the late Willis Alfred Cheek. He had resided the greater part of his life in Stephens County. He was a carpenter in the housing industry and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his mother, Beatrice Sosby Cheek of Eastanollee; daughter, Denise Todd of Toccoa; sons, William Alton Cheek of Martin, Ricky Cheek of Avalon; sisters, Nell Whittington of Maysville, Sue Shirley of Toccoa, Betty Ahearn of Roswell, Vera Erit of Comer; nine grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral was 11 a.m. at the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Luther Williams, the Rev. Perry Bailey and the Rev. Harold LeCroy officiating. Burial was in the Stephens Memorial Gardens.
