Anna R. Daugherty, 103, formerly of 623 Chicora Road, Butler, died Sunday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Oct. 27, 1906, in Concord Township, a daughter of the late James H. and Dora Bartley Christie.
She was a 1926 graduate of Beaver High School in Beaver.
A member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, she also had attended St. Joseph Church in North Oakland. She also was a member of the Moniteau Young at Heart Club and the AARP.
Anna enjoyed playing bingo, working on crossword puzzles and cooking. She traveled to Florida to spend the winter there with her family members.
She was the widow of Anthony L. Daugherty Sr., who died Sept. 18, 1979. She also was preceded in death by a son, four grandsons, a great-grandson, three brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are two sons; eight daughters; 32 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
DAUGHERTY - Friends of Anna R. Daugherty, who died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Interment will be at the St. John Cemetery, Coylesville, Fenelton.
The family suggests that memorial donations be sent to the activities department at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
