BECK - Fred J. Jr., 82, Gallitzin, died December 17, 2010, in Temple Terrace, Florida. Born September 27, 1928, in Gallitzin, son of the late Fred J. Sr and Mary Carolyn (Sheridan) Beck. Preceded in death by second wife, Sylvia; son, Robert J.; brothers, Tom and Phillip; and sisters, Peggy Lou and Leanne.

Survived by children, Thomas (Kathy), Painesville, Ohio; Theresa Speelberg, Chandon, Ohio; and Joe (Beth), Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Brother of Sister Donna Marie Beck, CSJ, Pittsburgh; Mary Joan Gilliland, Altoona; Dr. Carolyn, married to Robert Nickerson, Cresson; and Maureen Beck, married to Thom Potyraj, Baltimore, Md.

Fred worked as a purchasing manager for Thompson Products. He cherished and cared for his family, enjoyed camping in Florida,fishing, golfing, bowling and traveling. He was a World War II Marine veteran. Member of Gallitzin American Legion.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, at Saint Demetrius Church, Gallitzin, the Rev. Albert Ledoux, celebrant. Committal, All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Chandon, Ohio.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 27, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin, where vigil service will be held Monday. Military rites by Gallitzin American Legion and other local military organizations.
