PROVO -- James Washington Bailey, 82, 358 W. 500 South, Provo, died Thursday morning in a Provo hospital. He had been ill two months. Born in March 1873 in Provo, a son of Samuel S. and Cynthia Ann Loveless Bailey. Attended Provo schools and Brigham Young Academy. Married May Jones July 8, 1896. After her death he married Matilda Barrett Dec. 27, 1910. They later were divorced. Was an elder in LDS Church and member of Utah National Guard. For many years lived at home of daughter-in-law, Mrs. Glen Bailey. Surviving: one grandchild, one great-grandchild; two brothers, one sister: Bert and Reed and Mrs. Vilate Howard, Provo. Funeral Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Berg Mortuary. Friends call there Sunday 6 to 8 p.m., Monday before funeral. Burial in Provo City Burial Park.
