Marie E. Schoultise, 89, of Newport, died at 11:41 p.m. Tuesday at Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport. She was a retired plant department supervisor with Cincinnati Bell Telephone, and a member of Telephone Pioneers of America, Kilgour Chapter, and the Martha Circle and Prayer Circle of Christ Church United Church of Christ, Ft. Thomas. She also was a former Sunday school teacher and superintendent. Her first husband, Emerson Burkhardt, died in 1932. Her second husband, Carl Schoultise, died in 1983. Survivors include daughters, Beverly Meiners of Caledonia, Minn., and Joyce Switzer of Ft. Thomas; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
