Luttie Emma was born in Texas to Arthur Mack and Katie (Haynes) Mack in November 1891. By the time she was 19, she was married to William Click, a minister from Arkansas, in Brownwood, Texas. In 1913, she gave birth to their first son, William Wesley, in Whitefield, Oklahoma. They then moved to Arkansas, where they had two more sons: Mark Arthur (1916) and Howard Willson (1917). However, by 1920 she was a widow living in Monette, Craighead, Arkansas.
She then remarried Thomas Fortenberry, also a minister from Arkansas. They lived in Texas and had four sons. They then moved to Arizona, and in 1930 they were living in Florence, Pinal, Arizona with his, her, and their children, including a fifth son born in Arizona. By 1935 they had moved to Lubbock County, Texas. Her husband passed away in 1946, and Luttie passed in 1963, a few days before her 72nd birthday.
