Jack N. Adams, DMD, 79, of Jerome, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at his home.

He was born Sept. 30, 1932, in Gooding, Idaho, to Edwin E. Adams and Ruth Shawver Adams. He is a graduate of Jerome High School and Idaho State University, earning his Doctor of Medical Dentistry at Oregon Health Science University in Portland, with post-graduate studies at the University of Chicago.

He practiced in Corvallis, OR, prior to moving to Jerome. A member of Kiwanias, he was instrumental in establishing the Oregon Statewide Seat Belt Safety Program. He was an organizer for the Miss Corvallis Pageant. He also enjoyed singing with the Portland Symphonic Choir. In the Air Force, he was a 2nd Lt in medical services. In 1965, he opened his dental practice in Jerome. He was active in Jaycees and Rotary and awarded the Rotary Paul Harris Award.

Jack loved to fly, joining the Jerome Flying Club and earning private, commerical, and instructor's licenses. Many in the valley were his students. Being a lecturer and counselor with the Americana Leadsership College led him to see the good in each person he met. A self-taught computer programmer, he established Eagle Company, which sold his software for 25 years and was a consultant ti lobbyists, labo0r unions, furniture manufacturers and small business owners, mainly outside of Idaho. With a hobby of woodworking, he made furniture and lamps for family and friends. He was a host father to Jerome Rotary exchange students was visiting their families in Brazil.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, his son, Thomas N Adams of Caldwell; daughters Barbara Puckett of Pocatello, Nancy Zurcher of Boise, Cynthia Lynn Adams of Haines, Alaska, Jennifer(Bryan)Lanning of Buhl, Susan(Paul)Petruzzeli of Twin Falls and Kathleen Easley of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, James, Jane and Jake Petruzzelli, and Justus, Savanah and Jonas Easley; brother Dr.Ralph(Patricia)Adams of Salem, OR; and sister, Carolyn(DeWitt)Moss of Jerome. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Dr Robert L. Adams of Santa Barbara, CA.

A memorial service will be conducted at noon Saturday, Dec 3, 2011, at the Presbyterian Church, 262 E Ave A in Jerome, with a luncheon to follow. A private graveside service will be held in the Jerome Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank family, friends, caregivers and patients for their touching love and support during Jack's valiant fight with cancer.
